Justine Shenher, a student at the University of Saskatchewan and Project Coordinator for What’s Your Cap?, has a guest blog post over at DrinkTank. (Drink Tank is a blog run by the Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE) in Australia that aims to generate meaningful commentary and debate about alcohol policy.)
What’s Your Cap? is a student driven initiative on the U of S campus that aims to raise awareness and knowledge of the risks involved with the over consumption of alcohol. The University of Saskatchewan Student Binge Drinking Prevention Initiative was created out of an assignment in Dr. Colleen Anne Dell’s 2011 Sociology/Public Health Studies in Addictions.
Since then, the initiative has expanded to include activities such as an environmental assessment and research, swag (free give-aways) and mocktails, conference presentations and a new campus alcohol policy.
You can read the post (June 12, 2013) on the DrinkTank site here. You can also check out a presentation that Justine Shenher and Christina Meeds McGowan made at the 5th International Conference on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder in Vancouver, BC in February 2013 here.
