Peer-based programs for moms who are living in poverty and struggling with alcohol and other issues

While the Addiction Recovery Coach of Canada Society is relatively new (just launched in January 2011), the work of Janet Christie and Liza Miles is not. Together, they have been providing support groups, training, advocacy and outreach to vulnerable women with addiction and mental health concerns since 2003 in Victoria BC.

The crocus was chosen to symbolize the society because of its beauty and strength – shoots from the bulb are able to push through the ground even in the harsh cold of winter.
