Webcast of 11th Annual FACE Research Roundtable now available

The 11th Fetal Alcohol Canadian Expertise (FACE) Research Roundtable was held on September 14, 2010 in Vancouver, BC.  If you’d like to view the presentations, the webcast is available here.

Readers of this blog may be particularly interested in Gideon Koren‘s presentation on the development of a national Screening Tool Kit for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. The project involved nearly 100 experts from across Canada and was supported by the Canadian Association of Paediatric Health Centres (CAPHC), the Public Health Agency of Canada and Health Canada. The presentation is approximately 30 minutes and slides are also included. Vyta Senika ( Associate Executive VP, Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada) also speaks about the development of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada pregnancy and alcohol use guidelines in her presentation Maternal drinking guide to identify women at risk of alcohol use in pregnancy. These new guidelines were published in August of this year (see my previous post here).
