Information Sheet “Manitoba children affected by parental alcohol abuse and FASD: Health care costs” available through the Canadian Child Welfare Research Portal

This information sheet is based on a study done by a team led by Don Fuchs and Linda Burnside exploring the societal costs of parental alcohol misuse on children in Canada, especially the cost of care for children with FASD who are in the child welfare system. While this sheet focuses on health care costs, the researchers also looked at the cost of education and subsidized child care. The information sheet on health care costs can be downloaded from the Canadian Child Welfare Research Portal.
